Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 9, 2026
1. Who we are
Sniparium is a personal code snippet bank, maintained by ibiulabs. This policy explains what data we collect when you use Sniparium (on the web or via the VS Code extension), why we collect it, how we use it, and what your rights are regarding it.
2. Data we collect
Sniparium sign-in is done exclusively via GitHub OAuth. When you authorize access, we receive and store:
- Your GitHub username and public name;
- Your email address associated with your GitHub account;
- The URL of your GitHub avatar (profile picture).
We also store the code snippets, titles, descriptions, and tags you voluntarily create while using the service.
3. How we use your data
We use the data we collect exclusively to:
- Authenticate you and keep your session active across the web and the VS Code extension;
- Display your name and avatar on snippets you make public;
- Allow you to organize, edit, and share your own snippets.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.
4. Functional cookies (required)
We use session cookies managed by Better Auth to keep you authenticated. These cookies are strictly necessary: without them it is not possible to log in, access the dashboard, or save snippets. For this reason, it is not possible to use Sniparium's authenticated areas without accepting them. We also use a cookie of our own to remember your cookie consent choice.
5. Metrics cookies (Google Tag Manager / GA4)
With your explicit, optional, and revocable consent, we use Google Tag Manager (which may load Google Analytics 4) to understand, in an aggregated and anonymous way, how Sniparium is used — for example, which pages are visited the most. This data is used solely for ibiulabs's academic and professional purposes, such as improving the product and evaluating the project. These cookies are only loaded if you choose the "Accept all" option in the cookie banner; if you choose only functional cookies or decline, they are never loaded.
6. Your rights (LGPD)
Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018 — LGPD), you have the right to:
- Confirm whether your data is being processed;
- Access the data we hold about you;
- Correct incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data;
- Request the deletion of your data and account at any time;
- Request the portability of your data to another service;
- Revoke your consent for metrics cookies at any time.
7. How to revoke your consent
You can change your cookie choice at any time by clearing the sniparium-cookie-consent key from your browser's localStorage (in developer tools, under "Application > Local Storage") and reloading the page — the consent banner will be shown again. If you decline metrics cookies, the Google Tag Manager scripts stop loading immediately.
8. Contact
For questions about this policy or to exercise your rights as a data subject, contact us at ibiulabs@gmail.com or through the project's GitHub repository.
